Convert Alert turns any AliMed® alarm with a nurse call jack connector into a wireless monitoring system. It plugs into the nurse call jack of an alarm paired with the Nurse Call Receiver Unit ( #2142) and the Remote Receiver/Alarm Unit (#2241) or both, to allow wireless patient monitoring. AliMed® Wireless Alarm The problem with many alarms is that they sound in close proximity to the bed. Often the alarm box location is inconvenient and the siren-like signals are startling, making the patient more likely to tamper with the alarm. A wireless system solves all of these problems, and as an additional benefit, can be easier to locate in areas where multiple alarms are used.

Wireless Alarm's standard chime signal is less obtrusive, especially at night, and it features the same dependable pressure sensor pad as used on all AliMed® systems. A convenient telephone-type plug connects the battery-operated transmitter module to the pressure sensor pad. The LED on the transmitter flashes when sending an alarm signal. System automatically resets when patient is repositioned on the pressure sensor pad! To deactivate the system, simply turn power switch on and transmitter off.

AliMed® TR2 Patient Alarm is all new with advanced tamper-resistant features not found on other alarms! Staff can’t forget to switch it on and residents can’t switch it off—it’s always ON. New rubber edge bumpers provide greater drop protection, enhancing resilience and reliability. The new “low-drain” power management feature extends battery life over three times that of other alarms.

The settings switches under the tamper-resistant, screw-lock battery cover enable a clinician to select volume, type of alarm signal, and delay times. AliMed® Early Warning System A sensor and alarm system to monitor sacral sitting, forward sliding, and early rising patients. The 10" x 15" sensor pad is encased in a black mounting bag, and can be easily placed high on the seatback to provide early warning of rising, or mounted lower to detect sliding or sacral sitting. The alarm unit features a stainless steel clip for mounting to the chair, low-battery warning light, and high/low volume switch, and choice of alarm tone or chime. Uses one 9V battery (included). USE ONE: Early Warning
Most wheelchair and chair sensing alarm devices employ a pressure-activated sensor pad, usually located in the seat, or a pull-cord mechanically fastened to the patient. Cords can be cumbersome to reinstall once activated and are often deliberately disconnected by the patient. Pressure pads inevitably compromise the benefits of a pressure relieving cushion. Most importantly, both devices activate once the person has risen from the chair. Therefore, they don't provide early warning.

This back sensor detects the first stages of rising. People tend to lean forward before getting up. This movement activates the back alarm sensor, giving the caregiver advanced warning. Once the alarm sounds, it is easy for the patient to reseat without endangering him or herself. Simply mount the sensor pad high on the seat back to install.

USE TWO: Sacral Sitting
Sacral sitting and forward sliding are problems common to wheelchair users. Sacral sitting can compromise a resident's ability to function independently and can cause increased pressure on sacral region risking skin breakdown. This pad rests low on the seat-back where it can detect sacral sitting. As the patient slides forward, pressure is released from the pad and an alarm sounds. Since sacral sitting generally does not indicate an immediate safety hazard, the alarm can be "desensitized" by setting the hidden switch to "delay" rather than "instant response." A gentle chime tone can also be used.
